Owners are businesses and creators who connect their Buffer account and collect submissions. For owner accounts, Guest Star decides how data is used.

Guests are people who send a photo, video or comment to an owner. Guest Star handles submissions on the owner’s behalf: the owner decides what to post, and is responsible for how they use it.

• Access tokens from Buffer, so we can create drafts, posts and ideas you approve. They are encrypted, kept on our servers only, and deleted when you disconnect.
• Basic Buffer account details: your organisation and channel names and IDs, and your email address if Buffer provides it.
• What you set up in Guest Star: brand kit, calls, templates and settings.

• What you submit: photos, videos and text.
• Optional: a name or social handle for credit, and an email address if you ask to hear when you’re featured.
• Your consent choice and how you want to be credited, with the date.
• Your IP address and basic device information, to stop spam and abuse. Kept for 30 days.

• To show submissions to the owner you sent them to, and to make posts they approve.
• To check submissions for harmful or personal content before an owner sees them. This may use automated filters and an AI model.
• To tell you when your submission is featured, if you asked us to.

We never sell data or use it for advertising. We share it only with services that run Guest Star:

• Buffer, to publish posts an owner approves.
• Vercel, which hosts the app and stores files.
• Our database provider.
• Anthropic, for automated content checks.
• An email provider, for notifications.

Once an owner publishes a post it is public on their social channels, under those platforms’ own terms.

• Submissions an owner rejects: deleted after 30 days.
• Approved submissions: kept until the owner deletes them or you ask us to remove them.
• Owner data: deleted when an owner disconnects and asks us to delete their account.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent to a post. Every “you’re featured” message includes a removal link, or email paulolonge2@gmail.com. If we remove a submission we also remove any scheduled post we created from it; posts already published are on the owner’s channels, and we will ask them to take it down. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

We use only the cookies needed to keep owners signed in. No tracking or advertising cookies.

Guests must be 13 or older. Owners must be 18 or older.

If this policy changes we will update the date below and tell owners in the app.
